Let’s start, though, by going ahead and getting some of the bad news out of the way — there is no new American Princess on the air tonight. Why is that happening? It’s for the simple reason that the current run is already done. Lifetime wrapped the first season last week with a pair of episodes airing one right after the next — something that they did over the past several weeks overall. This was a curious move for them to make, largely because of the fact that they didn’t really need to do this. This is a show that deserved so much more of a spotlight and so much more attention. It’s great!

At the moment, we’re stuck in the middle of a long waiting game to determine whether or not Lifetime (or, down the road, another home) is interested in bringing American Princess back for another run. It’s not a series that killed it in terms of the live ratings, but it’s also one that has incredibly binge-watch potential. You can get through the entire first season in just a matter of a couple of days and it will bring you mountains of great stuff throughout. Think in terms of constant humor, great characters, and a Renaissance Faire setting that you don’t see on almost any other show.

This is where we keep our message simple — if you love American Princess and want to see it back for another season, the advice we give you is this: Be sure to recommend it to your friends! This is the best way to ensure that more attention is handed to the show and that maybe Lifetime/someone else would recognize more of its value. Typically, networks make a formal decision on the future of their shows within a couple of months — we imagine that we’re going to learn about American Princess and its future by the end of this summer/early fall. You want to give the writers more time to plot out a second season — provided, of course, that we even get a second season of the show.
