Siren season 2 episode 14 preview: Will Ben’s jealousy lead to rage?
Based on the promo below, it’s been determined that the water is too poisonous an environment for the mermaids to mate in. That is leading Ryn to consider other possibilities and that includes trying to find a new match on land. She has friends who are willing to help her, but there are some limits to some of this support. What happens when Ben starts to get jealous over the idea of Ryn having a different mate, especially someone he hardly knows? Some of the pain that he feels over all of this could turn to rage and that could cause something desperate to happen. It’s the sort of move that Ben may not be able to ever take back.
Below, CarterMatt offers up the official Siren season 2 episode 14 synopsis with some other information on what’s ahead:
Mating season turned out to be less successful than everyone had hoped, leading them to question the possibility of the mermaids procreating on land. Ryn brings a new mate ashore for the good of the colony, but it raises emotional questions for Ben and Maddie.
One other component of Ben’s jealousy is whatever is going on with Maddie, given that these three characters have been intertwined for the entire bulk of the series. What happens with Ben impacts Maddie and vice-versa. We are so end to the season now and things are somehow the emotional rup may run over and cause some characters to struggle to clean the mess up.
As for whether this storyline will be resolved moving into Siren season 3 … that’s what you’re left to wonder. We don’t think that mating season is going to be the end of the mermaids’ problems … let’s just leave it at that. It doesn’t resolve the situation that is there in the water.
