Jane the Virgin season 5 episode 16 preview: Jane’s dark decision
At the forefront of next week’s episode, though, will be Jane wondering whether or not art is imitating life. She’s going to get a suggestion for her book that could, ultimately, lead to questions as to whether or not she’s gone through something similar. It could cause her to rethink most of the past few years of her life and wonder more of what the right path forward is for her.
Below, CarterMatt has the official Jane the Virgin season 5 episode 16 synopsis with some more news as to what is coming up next:
VILLIANS – When Jane’s (Gina Rodriguez) editor pitches her a dark twist for her book, Jane begins to wonder if the same thing might have actually happened to her. Rogelio (Jaime Camil) helps River (guest star Brooke Shields) bond with her daughter, but River once again makes things difficult for him. To avoid thinking about her career change, Xo (Andrea Navedo) instead focuses on trying to smooth things over between Jane and Alba (Ivonne Coll). Meanwhile, Alba stands up to someone from her past, which helps Jane realize she should do the same for herself. Justin Baldoni and Yael Grobglas also star.
The more that we dive into the story next week, the more it’s going to be clear that this is going to be a big episode for Jane to take a stand — but also one where there is a considerable amount of Rogelio-focused comedy at the same time. He and River are going to be spending some time together and their rapport is the basis for the new promo below courtesy of The CW. We watch that and, almost immediately, what we end up wondering is whether or not the network be bringing a little bit more to the table in terms of promotion. Can’t we get a larger tease of Jane’s story?
