America’s Got Talent: Jay Leno, Dwyane Wade, among Judge Cuts guests

Check out the four people who are stopping by for Judge Cuts, coupled with some of our initial thoughts on all of them.
Brad Paisley – This is probably the choice that is the most predictable, given that the country-music star has done some reality TV judging in the past and should feel reasonably comfortable in this role. (Does anyone else remember Rising Star?)
Ellie Kemper – The former star of The Office and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is coming home to NBC for a spot on the panel. We like the choice, mostly because getting more people with a good sense of humor on the panel is never a bad thing.
Jay Leno – We’re mostly just surprised that the former Tonight Show host wanted to do this. It may be good cross-promotion for Jay Leno’s Garage, but the comedian is at the point in his career where he can do virtually anything that he wants to since we imagine that he’s living in a house made of gold bars and sleeps on a bed made of money.
Dwyane Wade – The newly-retired NBA player may feel like an odd choice to be a judge on a talent show before you remember that this is far from the first time he’s been involved in the media world and he’s married to judge Gabrielle Union. This is also not the first time that America’s Got Talent has hired a spouse or former spouse of one of their judges; previously, Heidi Klum’s ex-husband Seal was a guest judge on an episode when she was a part of the panel.
What we do like about this panel is that they come from so many walks of life that it could allow for a wide array of Golden Buzzer recipients. This show is always better when not everyone who gets it is a young singer.
