If you look at the image HERE via the show’s official Twitter account, you can see more of Adso in his element, which may very well be the Fraser family’s garden. We at least like to think that this preview is a look at the cat at Fraser’s Ridge, a place he will call home throughout much of the upcoming season. This photo is in honor of National Kitten Day.
Adso is currently stealing the thunder of Rollo in the cute-animal department leading into season 5, but don’t rule out Rollo just yet — even though Young Ian is separate from the rest of the Fraser family for the time being alongside his four-legged friend, we’ve got a feeling that this is going to change in due time. There’s room for both! They don’t have to be in competition…
For those who don’t know the story via The Fiery Cross, Adso becomes a part of the Fraser family and ends up being valuable for Claire as she keeps vermin away as she continues her work as a surgeon. While Adso may have a role when it comes to providing general cuteness, every character within the Outlander world comes with a purpose; Fraser’s Ridge may be idyllic in some ways, but everyone needs to find a way in order to pull their weight.
Outlander season 5 will premiere in 2020 (most likely), and judging from the number of behind-the-scenes teases that we have seen featuring Adso already, it feels easy to assume that we’re going to be seeing the cat within the first handful of episodes. Why would you wait on releasing someone like Adso into the mix?
