The Code episode 11 preview: The case of the missing fingerprints

The code

Curious to learn what’s coming up on The Code episode 11? We’re (unfortunately) getting near the end of the season, but that means that the tension is going to rise. The same goes for the stakes on some of the cases itself. At the time that these were being written, there was still a big chance that this show could come back for another season (in theory). If nothing else, the writers wanted to know that Abe, Harper, and the other characters would have a fitting end to their story. The hope is that this batch of episodes would end with the biggest bang possible.

For fans of The Code, that may still be the case … there may just not be a big enough audience of folks watching. It just has to do its best in order to please the fans that it has. “Don and Doff” should be an opportunity to do that, given that it presents one of our favorite mystery show tropes — the accidental death that turns out to be murder. They’re steered in that direction because of a death that appears at first to be an overdose when, in reality, missing fingerprints cause them to think a little bit differently.

Below, CarterMatt has the official The Code episode 11 synopsis with a few more details all about what’s coming:

“Don and Doff” – Abe and Harper’s investigation into the accidental overdose of a Marine takes a turn when they can’t find any fingerprints – even the deceased’s – on the pill bottle, leading them to believe he was murdered. Also, Abe receives a warning about testifying in a lawsuit against the Corps, and Maya is concerned that her brother does not have his mental illness under control, on THE CODE, Monday, July 15 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Will Abe go through with that testimony? If we were to bet that a story this season could lead to a characters’ long-term future being in jeopardy, maybe this is it. We don’t think the Corps is too cool about the idea of someone hurting their reputation from within — even if it is something that they really should be called out for. It doesn’t mean that they appreciate it.
