Euphoria episode 5 preview: Jennifer Morrison directs

Euphoria season 1 Rue

In terms of the story of Euphoria episode 5, there is a good bit to be intrigued about — we’re around the halfway point of the first season and there is a lot for these characters to explore. To go along with that, there’s also some headlines of note behind the scenes — after all, former Once Upon a Time star Jennifer Morrison is stepping in as a director!

While this episode (entitled “’03 Bonnie and Clyde”) is not the first directorial effort in Morrison’s career, it does mark the first time that we’ve had a chance to see her take on this role within an episode of episodic television. There is something exciting about seeing her put her stamp on a show that is already working to give us a number of discussion-worthy topics. Some of those are going to continue moving into episode 5, whether it be sobriety, changing lifestyles, relationships, and also trauma. This is a show that is looking to highlight real struggles impacting a number of people out there.

For some more information what is coming up, be sure to check out the full Euphoria episode 5 synopsis below:

In the aftermath of the carnival, Maddy (Alexa Demie) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) are forced to deal with a police investigation. Jules (Hunter Schafer) begins to feel pressured by her role in Rue’s (Zendaya) sobriety. Kat (Barbie Ferreira) ignores a confused Ethan (Austin Abrams) and embraces her new lifestyle. Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) tries to distance herself from Daniel (Keean Johnson) and focus on her relationship with McKay (Algee Smith). Cal (Eric Dane) worries about how his actions have affected his sons.

Throughout this upcoming episode, you’ll have a chance to see characters take on some of their most difficult issues to date. The police investigation is the obvious one that stands out right now; this is something that most young people aren’t aware of how to deal with and some of those struggles are only going to increase as time goes by. Things will get worse before they get better and you just have to hope that some of these characters will have friends to lean on. Otherwise, this may prove to be too much for everyone to really bear.
