Absentia season 3 writers room already in progress
In a recent post on Twitter, series star/executive producer Stana Katic confirmed this news. Consider this yet another fantastic sign that another batch of episodes is coming — as if there weren’t enough bits and pieces of evidence there already. We should note that nothing is 100% official just yet, and a writers’ room opening doesn’t always equal a renewal. (Luke Cage last year was actively in the writers’ room before Netflix eventually canceled.) Yet, more often than not, this is a beacon of hope and a positive sign that a show is going to have a chance to come back to tell more stories. It means that someone has handed out an indication that they are interested in a renewal and are moving forward with the anticipation of that.

As you probably know already, the plan is for Absentia season 3 to film throughout the months to come — if that timeline holds, you have to believe that the show is eventually going to come back on the air in 2020. As for when, that just depends on where you live! We would imagine that the show would deliver yet another complex, twisted narrative with various surprises along the way.

One of the key questions that we are pondering about entering Absentia season 3 is where the series is going to go following the shocking death of Alice in the finale. She was tasked with looking after Flynn from the beginning as a part of some secret experiments and there’s such a heartbreaking element to this. For the better part of his young life, the relationship with his adoptive mother was a lie. Meanwhile, his biological mother was gone for years and now carries with her a rather large amount of trauma. How is she going to move forward following all of this?
