ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 spoilers: First look at Nathan Fillion in handcuffs

It was pretty fun to see Monday night’s new episode of “Castle” focus more on the brighter side of Castle and Beckett’s relationship; however, anyone who stuck around to watch the preview for the next new episode probably left this immediately feeling like they were just punched in the stomach. How could things go from good to terrible in such a short span of time? Let’s just say that, to the surprise of no one, the law was involved.

Specifically, this installment (entitled “Probable Cause”) is going to feature Castle getting in handcuffs at one point after being suspected of killing a woman that has some ties to his past. As if this alone was not bad, there is also video surveillance that shows a possible connection before the woman’s death involving jewelry, and there were also fingerprints of his all over the victim’s residence. Things aren’t looking so great for Nathan Fillion’s character, and it ends with him asking Beckett for his lawyer.

Do we really think that he killed someone? Of course not, but he has to be hiding something given that he is not coughing up much information about what he was up to or why someone may have decided to create a tableau for a dead body that was similar to something in one of his books. He’s going to have some explaining to do, and this time he’s not really going to have the luxury of a nice place in the Hamptons to make everything easier.

The only sad part about this promo? That it pretty much confirmed that we are not going to see the show back on the air again until October 29, as politics are once again going to be taking hold in the primetime TV lineup. Let’s just hope that you have plenty of patience, and also some sympathy for our leading man.
