Animal Kingdom season 4 episode 6 spoilers: J, Angela’s tense conversation

Animal Kingdom season 4 episode 6 will be arriving on TNT Tuesday night, which proves that this is a show bold enough to go up against the busy July 4 holiday. We get it — July 2 is not July 4, but there are a number of shows that are, starting tomorrow, cowering in fear of fireworks and everything else that is coming up through the remainder of the week.

So should any of the characters within Animal Kingdom itself be cowering in fear? That’s a question worth posing and one hyped up further in a sneak peek over at Entertainment Tonight. The relationship between J and Angela was tense from the moment she arrived. J knows her history and blames her for what happened to Julia; however, Angela’s shrugging her shoulders at the past and doing what she can in order to be happy within her present. That means, in part, being able to hang around the Cody residence and do what she wants until she gets “back on her feet” (whatever that means for her).

The part of the whole Angela problem that is the most infuriating for J feels like it’s her attitude itself. She’s just so nonchalant about what she’s done and how she is now a fixture within his life. She doesn’t care that there are issues in the past, and she thinks that she can tell J whatever she wants and he will just have to deal with it. She’s underestimating J, but she may also realize that there’s not that much J can do about her situation. He’s not going to kill her over her hanging out in the Cody house, and if he threatens her, that gets back to Pope. She’s snaked her way into a good situation, one where criticism rolls off her back and she continues to get what she wants — opportunity. The major question that remains is simply this: What’s her endgame at the end of all of this?
