American Princess episode 9 preview: The corporate tour of the Faire

American Princess

Next week, American Princess episode 9 is going to be coming up on Lifetime — and it’s absolutely crazy that we’re so far into this story already. The decision for the network to do these episode double-headers like they’re doing is somewhat baffling, especially when it includes these episodes airing into the wee hours of the mourning. The proof is absolutely in the pudding that the idea didn’t work well last week; the second episode that aired was down more than 50% from the show’s season 1 average, and that doesn’t make us bursting at the seams with optimism over the future.

Yet, we’re going to enjoy however much of the story is left for us; that’s the thing with art. Sometimes, you have to ignore the big picture (no matter however difficult that may be at times) in order to simply enjoy what is in front of you. You just have to find a way to tune out the noise. Luckily, we think that this is a show all about ignoring some of the noise. It’s fun, heartfelt at times, and it’s intended to be perfect summer escapism.

Within episode 9, what will stand out immediately is the idea of Amanda and David having to work together in order to become glorified tour guides for the most boring Renaissance Faire attendees ever — a corporate group. These aren’t the sort of people who anyone would enjoy spending time with, but sometimes, you don’t choose who you’re tasked with. You just know that there’s going to be three or four people who are going to hate the whole experience; meanwhile, there will be that one person who is so aggressively into it that it will startle even Amanda and the rest of the employees.

Below, CarterMatt does have the official American Princess episode 9 synopsis with more updates as to what’s coming:

Amanda and David are forced to take a corporate group around the Renaissance Festival together; Brian and Juan Andres double-date with Natasha, Phil and Stephen; Delilah manages her residual emotions from the trial.

Since we are so close to the finale, you have to imagine that whatever happens here will carry over to that story. That’s going to be the one part of American Princess that is hard to ignore separate from the story; the idea that the show is almost over right when we’ve fully embraced ourselves within the wild world of the Faire.
