Early Elementary season 7 episode 7 takeaways
Can we cheer for the return of Captain Gregson first and foremost? Feels like a good idea. This is a guy who was knocking on death’s door and ready to be let in earlier this season. Now, he’s going to have an opportunity to do a doorbell-ditch on death and come back into the land of the living, and with his old job in tow. After almost dying, we imagine that he’s going to be operating full-on in the moment and doing whatever he wants. He’s living like he hasn’t lived before since he knows he could be dying at any moment. Taking Dwyer down a peg may be a big part of that … and you never know what could or couldn’t be tied to the central mystery at the heart of this season. Odin Reichenbach could easily be involved in his detective’s departure; this is a guy involved in a LOT of other stuff.
One quick note: Isn’t Gregson the best detective? We refuse to believe anything otherwise and we’ll challenge the entire Elementary precinct to a fight over it.
