The Good Doctor season 3 cast celebrate most-watched drama award

The Good Doctor

Now is a very good time to be a fan of The Good Doctor — and there are plenty of them all over the world!

If you did not know the ABC show was awarded a Golden Nymph at the Monte Carlo TV Festival, a prestigious award that (for this occasion) represents them being the most-watched drama in the entire world. We know that there aren’t any awards given out for being the most-watched show in America — even if there was, this would still be even cooler. Think about all of the different countries that are broadcasting this show and what it must mean to this cast and crew. They could go to Europe, Asia, or South America to hear people discuss Dr. Shaun Murphy and the other staff members at the St. Bonaventure Hospital.

Perhaps the most incredible thing about this achievement to us is that The Good Doctor managed to pull this off after just two years on the air. JUST TWO YEARS! That is an incredible. Most of the shows who win this award, like NCIS, are ones that have been around for an extended period of time. Maybe it was due to Freddie Highmore’s popularity that The Good Doctor was able to grow quickly, or maybe it was due to the success of the Korean format. Either way, the cast and crew can smile extra wide as they work on the production of their third season.

Below (via the show’s official Twitter) you can see cast members Hill Harper, Christina Chang, and Nicholas Gonzalez all celebrate the achievement. It stands that the Golden Nymph is going to be a fixture around their Vancouver set for some time to come. Just make sure that it doesn’t get into any footage — we don’t want a Game of Thrones coffee cup incident on our hands!
