MTV No Filter: Tana turns 21: Trailer, Tana Mongeau, Jake Paul kiss

As much as people want to push back at the idea that YouTubers are celebrities, or that YouTube is becoming a bigger entertainment portal then most network television, the truth still remains the same: People love YouTubers. So when we heard that one of our favorite YouTubers was getting her own show on MTV we couldn’t be more excited, but at the same time worried that MTV might have to water her down.

MTV is a great venue for Tana Mongeau where we have seen people like Snooki go from obscurity to a massive reality star. Snooki was a force to be reckoned with on the party scene, but Tana really raises the bar to another level (if you haven’t listened to her “storytimes” on her channel you really need to – they are beyond entertaining!). We haven’t seen a lot of YouTubers make that jump from the platform to getting their own show, but Tana makes a lot of sense in this world where young, rich and unpredictable entertainment is eaten up by the millions on YouTube every day.

So now we have Tana’s new show kicking off on July 8th on MTV called MTV No Filter: Tana turns 21! where we are going to see an unfiltered look into her life as well as her big birthday bash. She shared a lot of that over the weekend on her instagram stories where we saw her and her friends taking Vegas by storm as well as Jake Paul proposing to her with a giant cake. Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ve probably heard that Tana and Jake are engaged and while many out there think that this is a prank/storyline for her show, she is saying on her Twitter that it’s 100% real. Is this going to be featured on the show? We have to think that it will be especially since we see Jake and Tana kiss in the trailer. If you’ve been following their YouTube accounts the past few weeks, they’ve been getting a lot of fans wanting them to be a couple and shipping them like crazy and they’ve 100% leaned into that.

The trailer talks about all the crazy stuff she’s done and her moving into the next phase of her life where she’s starting to grow up, but one thing we noticed was a little MTV crossover (wouldn’t be an MTV show without that). If you are a fan of Wild N Out as much as we are (we have literally seen every episode a million times) then you noticed her wearing a shirt from the show in the trailer. Also if you follow the show’s YouTube channel they have been featuring her on it (she also posted on her instagram that she was on the show!) so we can expect to see a Tana/Wild N Out episode and we are living for it.
