‘The X Factor’ notes: Melanie Massone, James Arthur, and Gary Barlow

One day removed from our second straight shocking elimination on “The X Factor,” and the newest contestant to be eliminated from the show is now trying her best tot actually defend one of the people who actually defeated her in the competition.

Speaking in a brand-new interview on Sunday, Melanie Massone started things off by defending the Overs category; even though it is harder for one of them to win then just about any other group in the competition, this still gives people an opportunity to have their dreams come true, even though it has taken them a little bit longer for it to happen. From here, she then also went on to say that Rylan Clark, despite all of the controversy surrounding him, is much more talented than we have seen:

“He might surprise some people in future. I think he’s turning things around … I think there’s a lot of affection for him. A lot of the negativity has turned around.”

Meanwhile, another one of the contestants still in the competition is also speaking out about something that they have went through over the weekend. James Arthur told reporters that after his performance of “No More Drama” during the show Saturday, he ended up needing medical attention for what was described at the time as an anxiety attack. The good news is that there does not seem to be any sort of long-lasting problems as a result of this, and we expect him to come roaring back with a performance worth talking about in the near future.

Who are you currently rooting for in the competition?
