The Good Doctor season 3 video: See Freddie Highmore back on set!

The good news was recently revealed that The Good Doctor season 3 is now in production, so why not get some video proof now from one of the show’s main stars?

In a new post on the show’s official Twitter (see below), you can see none other than Freddie Highmore mention being back on set and talking briefly about the first day of work. Freddie’s not actively on social media himself, so it’s always something special whenever he makes his presence felt. It’s also notable that the cast is back — it’s another milestone that has been checked off leading into the premiere a little bit later this fall!

The Good Doctor is one of the first shows for the fall back for production, as it and another Vancouver series in A Million Little Things are back to work at roughly the same time. What’s the reason for that? We just think that this is a schedule that works well for the cast and crew — maybe it allows them to take advantage of good summer weather, and it frees the cast up for some other work through much of the spring. Filming is going to continue for the bulk of the next several months.

While we don’t take too much away from Freddie saying hello to all of us from the hospital set, it does still remain a thrill to know that Shaun Murphy’s going to be back as a doctor after being temporarily fired by Jackson Han. He’s got a new Chief of Surgery now in Dr. Lim and we feel like with that comes some different perspectives and insight at the hospital. There’s a new paradigm and maybe a new way of doing things now — but he still needs to be careful and protect his job. His experiences are inevitably going to be different from everyone else just because of who he is and also what he’s gone through over the years.

We do anticipate that for almost every character on The Good Doctor, there are going to be some growing pains through season 3. It’s hard for there not to be! Characters like Dr. Melendez will have to get use to a different power structure, while Dr. Glassman will have a far different outlook on his future than what he once did.
