CMT Music Awards 2019: Where to live stream red carpet pre-show

CMT Music

We’re right in the middle of summer awards season — which, for the record, is mostly a chance for some of the more lighthearted, celebratory shows to air. That includes the CMT Music Awards, which are coming on the air tonight on (you guessed it) CMT.

Do you want to prepare yourself to check it out in advance? Well, rest assured that you’re in the right place! We’ve got in this piece a little bit of intel on two different things: When the show actually begins, and then also beyond that, where you can watch the red carpet pre-show.

Let’s start with the pre-show here, given that it’s going to begin one hour before the start of the awards-show proper at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time. Not only that, but you can actually suggest some questions to be asked on the pre-show! Just click on the embedded tweet and make it clear to the folks over at CMT what sort of stuff you want asked of the various performers. You should also be able to watch the pre-show live on Twitter, which should prove to be rather useful for those of you who don’t have access to a TV on the time in which it comes on the air. For a little bit more news on that, be sure to visit the link here.

As for the awards-show itself, it’s going to begin at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. However, if you’re hoping to find a specific place in order to live-stream the show itself, you’re probably going to be disappointed. After all, CMT wants ratings! It doesn’t do them a whole lot of good, especially as a cable network, to make the entire awards show available to potential consumers for free, even if it does expand the reach of the broadcast.

If you do love all things country music, the reasons to watch tonight’s broadcast are aplenty. Let’s kick things off here with the lineup, which includes the likes of Luke Combs, Brandi Carlile, Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Sheryl Crow, Tanya Tucker, Trombone Shorty, Zac Brown Band, Brett Young, Boyz II Men, Carrie Underwood, Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Dan + Shay, Kane Brown, Thomas Rhett and Luke Bryan. Isn’t that a solid lineup of familiar faces? Most of them are somewhat expected, and we’re presuming that someone threw in there the Boyz II Men part in order to make your jaw hit the floor. (For the record, we’d watch Boyz II Men do just about anything.)

Of course, there are a lot of people who will proclaim that the CMT Music Awards are country music’s biggest night — yet, if that’s the case, what does that make either the ACM Awards or the CMA Awards? How many examples of “country’s biggest night” can there really be? That’s certainly a good question to ponder at this particular moment in time.

What do you think about the lineup for tonight’s CMT Music Awards, and are you planning to watch? Be sure to share in the comments. (Photo: CMT.)
