The InBetween episode 2 preview: What’s next in ‘Made of Stone’

Following tonight’s premiere episode, The InBetween episode 2 is looking to build on everything you saw. What does that mean? Think along the lines of another important case, a constant sort of creepiness, and hopefully a little more information when it comes to how Cassie’s powers work and what the endgame of this series is going to be.

Before we get too far down the rabbit hole of this preview, let’s make one thing very clear — we aren’t expecting too much in the way of answers here as to how Cassie got her powers. This is a series about things that are happening now rather than some sort of odd superhero origin story. There are some various ins and outs worth exploring here but

06/05/2019 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : Tom and Damien enlist Cassie’s help when a mother and her young son mysteriously vanish. When suspicion turns to the woman’s husband, Cassie’s visions reveal a darker, more vengeful plot. Ed Roven returns with an offer for Cassie. TV-14 V

Within this episode, the case of the week element is going be interesting just because we’re not sure that the mother and the young son are actually dead or lost somewhere on the other side. What are the rules here? We don’t actually know precisely what all of the rules are when it comes to Cassie’s powers just yet, but this can be a nice way to unpack and better understand what the world is.

Beyond just that, episode 2 should also serve as a great chance in order to better learn a thing or two all about what the long-term story for The InBetween season 1 is going to be, given the fact that we don’t quite know what it’s going to be or look like so far. To date, the only pieces that we’ve got are plot-centric, such as Damien coming on board as Tom’s new partner. It still remains to be seen just how he is going to adapt to this position and being around a world that he doesn’t quite understand … and how could he really? It’s pretty darn hard to figure out how you would navigate the ins and outs of someone who understands all this supernatural stuff and acts as though it’s totally normal.

The InBetween, make no mistake, is a show with a lot of potential and capacity for great twists and turns. We’ve got the foundation now, and through the coming weeks, we’re going to have a chance to see just how this show ends up building on this as they create what’s hopefully going to be a world that sticks around for some time.
