Fear the Walking Dead season 5: New video with Alycia Debnam-Carey, cast

Fear the Walking Dead

Ready for Fear the Walking Dead season 5 to just be here, already? Well, the good news is that you won’t be waiting too much longer for it. The new batch of episodes will back come Sunday, June 2, and the new video below gives you a look behind the scenes into what’s coming.

In here, you’ve got a chance to hear from such notable people as Alycia Debnam-Carey, Lennie James, and Jenna Elfman about how the goal is to make things crazy, bloody, and a little bit exciting — but, beyond just that, how to also showcase a very different side of the zombie apocalypse. We know that entering this season, we could be seeing some of our heroes trying to actually be heroes and help some of the other folks who are out there, stranded amidst the larger zombie storm coursing through streets and fields. It’s going to make for an interesting tone, and there could even be some lighter moments … but also still plenty of fear, given that this is such a central component to this story.

Of course, we do really wonder this: Can someone like Alicia Clark really be that scared anymore/ She’s basically lost almost every single person who matters to her and now, she’s weathered and dealt with more than almost anyone alive. She’s one of the main focal points for us in this season, largely because we have seen her journey from the very beginning and she’s the only real connective tissue back to the pilot. Sure, there are some other notable characters, but we’ll keep going back to her for a sense of progression and the overall arc.

The cast and producers explain below that there are going to be some changes to this season, as well, including the arrival of Dwight at some point from The Walking Dead — making him the second major character to cross over. Hopefully, this show will allow for a chance to see more of what he’s been up to, and also allow him to have a chance to redeem himself even further beyond anything that we’ve had a chance to see so far.

The only thing we ask for out of this season…

Can you at least keep most of the major characters alive for at least a little while? We’re not sure that we’re over Madison just yet — and we’re not sure that we’ll ever be over it. Life goes on, but the struggle is that with so many characters, Fear the Walking Dead feels like a totally different show. We don’t want to end up losing any others to go along with it.
