The Bachelorette spoilers: Is Luke the season’s villain?

Hannah Brown - Bachelorette cast

Tonight, The Bachelorette delivered a lot of entertaining content, whether it be a dude getting thrown out for a secret, Matt Donald showing up on a tractor, and the First Impression Rose going to Luke, who we feel already is going to be polarizing for most of the season. How did that dude not give her his jacket when she claimed that she was cold? We guess that we should give him credit for being there for her when she needed him, but still.

Tonight’s episode was eventful, but really the only takeaway that we can really give you is that more often than not, the person who has the First Impression rose is the person who ends up winning the season. That’s at least been the way it works with The Bachelorette.

Anyhow, we know that the real fun of this season is going to come once we get into the next few weeks. We haven’t really gotten to know anyone just yet, but that’s going to change. There will be drama, there will be heartache, and we have a feeling that Hannah Brown will be showing both her silly and serious side.

In the end, we know that Hannah will probably end up with one of these guys, so we hope that there is some sort of real love story at the end of all of this — and we also don’t see a lot of controversy about bad social media comments or some of the other stuff we’ve seen over the years.

Judging from the preview for what we saw tonight…

The #1 takeaway that we’ve got is that apparently, Luke is probably going to be one of the main villains at the heart of all of this. He seems like the sort of guy who really wants to present the best version of himself, but he’s got this inner aggression that is trying to creep its way out and sometimes, it just so happens do that very thing. He’s going to be at the center of drama and, beyond that, there’s going to be some other confrontations that Hannah finds herself in.

Ultimately, though, it feels like the real theme of this season is someone allowing Hannah to be Hannah — that means embracing her sense of humor, allowing her to be genuine when she needs to, and then also recognizing that she is independent and worthy of love. She’s complicated, but that’s a big part of what ultimately makes her special. (We do appreciate the moment in the preview where she shoves away the camera; it’s basically her version of Colton jumping the fence.)
