Last Man Standing season 8 premiere date hopes for Tim Allen, cast
Let’s kick things off here with, of course, a fairly simple remainder: We are going to see more of Last Man Standing on the air! We’ve already heard that there is going to be a season 8 — as a matter of fact, we discuss this in the video below. Even though there is some official renewal news out there when it comes to Last Man Standing, that does not mean that we’re going to see Tim Allen or the rest of the cast back at the same time that they once were. Because of Fox programming WWE SmackDown on Friday coming up this fall, they are going to need to move Last Man Standing elsewhere. We imagine that the series is going to be shifting to another timeslot, presumably Tuesday nights where it first began on ABC so many years ago.
As for a premiere date, let’s just say that you’re going to see it back, most likely, in either late September or early October. There’s no real reason for Fox to shift it! We are talking here about the network’s most-watched comedy, and you want to get good ratings at the same time that you’re getting a lot of the other shows on television. We don’t think that Fox is going to be eager to shift the show’s airing structure much as a whole — there will be new episodes this fall, but then also presumably another batch come in the winter and the spring. There will be hiatuses, and almost surely there will be some frustrated people along the way.
Expect more news on Last Man Standing come next week, when the official upfront presentation happens for advertisers. Meanwhile, expect a firm premiere date to be coming later this summer, and for Allen and the rest of the cast to get back filming at some point in August. Even during the off-season, we’re certainly planning to have all sorts of other updates. Stay tuned every single step of the way! We’re hoping for more humor, for sure, in season 8, but also more examples of how the Baxter kids are growing up and how this, in turn, is causing Mike and Vanessa to evolve.
