The Goldbergs season 7 renewal hopes on ABC: Will it be back?
We gotta start things off here by saying that, shockingly, there is no formal renewal at the moment for a season 7 — and we don’t quite know how that hasn’t happened yet! If we had to issue a theory, though, it’s that ABC programming head Karey Burke is still new to the job and some of the renewals of the show are a little bit later just because of that. More than likely, we’re going to have a chance to see a little more of The Goldbergs and the announcement will be coming sooner rather than later.
The Goldbergs is one of the shows that is a staple for ABC at the moment — there’s a reason why it just got a spin-off in Schooled, and it’s because the network still sees so much greatness in it. With the news coming out that Modern Family is ending next season, we think that the network as a whole will be leaning on this show and black-ish a little bit more than ever before. We foresee that there are at least a few more seasons of the show.
So when will the renewal news come out? More than likely by early next week. Not too long after that, we’re going to be waiting to see where it fits in the schedule, where it’s likely going to be in the same exact place that it’s always been. There’s no reason to change it, and more than that, there’s no reason to think that it could change.
So when will season 7 premiere?
Think in either September or October, thought that news will be coming at some point in the summer. There’s no real reason to rush anything when it comes to an announcement, just as there’s also no real reason to disclose any major story details as to what’s coming up next.
In general, The Goldbergs is one of those shows that can really succeed and exist in a world where there aren’t too many spoilers out there for it. It’s more of a sit-down-and-enjoy show where you can just be taken out of your surrounding world for thirty minutes and focus on something else — something that, for a lot of people out there, may feel very nostalgic. That’s a pattern that we think will change, and there’s going to be something fun that comes from seeing more and more pop-culture references trick in. It’s always been one of this show’s primary calling cards.
