Chicago PD season 6 episode 21 preview: Antonio’s guilty conscience

Chicago PD exclusive preview

Next week on Chicago PD season 6 episode 21, be prepared for a critical episode — especially when it comes to Antonio Dawson’s endgame.

There is a reasonable chance that you’ve heard the news already that Jon Seda is departing the show at the end of the season. Because of the advance warning, we can now sniff around like a bloodhound as we try to find a way to answer the next question: How? What’s the mechanism for the show getting from point A to point B, and how exactly does that work out? That’s something that we’ll be spending a good bit of time thinking about, but we hope that his exit does in some way involve the character getting an element of peace. If anyone deserves it, it’s Antonio. This is a guy who’s dealt with trauma, including his own kid being kidnapped, and then also an opioid addiction that almost derailed his whole career earlier this season. All of this is a lot to take in.

Below, CarterMatt does offer the official Chicago PD season 6 episode 21 synopsis with some more news as to what’s coming:

05/15/2019 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : Antonio (Jon Seda) struggles with his guilty conscience as he tries to take down a major drug dealer. In order to protect his team, Voight (Jason Beghe) takes a big shot at Kelton (guest star John C. McGinley). TV-14 LV

When it comes to Hank Voight and the big election story, it shouldn’t come as a shock to really anyone out there that he wants to see Kelton taken down a peg. At this point, finding a way to chip at the guy’s legacy may be the only way in order to ensure that the re-election plot falls through. These are desperate times, and of course that does call for some fairly desperate measures.

Ultimately, this is Chicago politics — it’s a world that is full of murk and muck, and sometimes, the only way to really beat someone is to join them right down in those muddy, nasty trenches. That’s probably what we’re going to see over the coming episodes, and we just have to go ahead and prepare for that now to the best of our ability.
