Next week on NCIS: New Orleans, it’s finally here — the big season 5 finale and a chance for some answers. It’s possible that we could see an epic showdown between Dwayne Pride and the group Apollyon and, beyond that, it’s also possible that lives could be in jeopardy along the way. Given the cliffhanger that we got at the end of season 4 with Scott Bakula’s character being gunned down, it feels fair to say that almost anything could happen.
There’s also one other question worth thinking about at the moment: Who is the mole? What we know at the moment is that someone is handing down information to help in some of their larger operations, and the question marks flying around out there right now are mostly a matter of who. Why would someone do this and, beyond just that, why would they want to do this? What is there to really be gained from it unless Apollyon is funneling money their way or they have a vendetta against Pride — which is certainly possible, given that there are a number of people out there who certainly seem to at the moment. We’ve seen a lot of them over the course of this series’ run just because of how good he is at his job.

Once we know this mole, and once we know the status of Apollyon, then we’re going to have a good chance to see precisely what the future holds for season 5.
Below, CarterMatt offers up the official NCIS: New Orleans season 5 finale synopsis with some more news regarding what’s coming up:
“The River Styx, Part II” – After tracking Apollyon, a deadly underground spy network, to war-torn South Ossetia, Pride is separated from the team and faces grave danger. Also, in order to save Pride, the NCIS team must locate a mole who continues to feed information to Apollyon, on the fifth season finale of NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, Tuesday, May 14 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Through this particular story, we’re wanting mostly a chance to see everyone involved, even if at the center of everything at the moment is some sort of mystery involving Pride. We’ve wanted to see more this season of characters like Lasalle, and we say that knowing that a lot of the Pride stuff has been really great. In the midst of the action and the near-death experiences, just don’t forget that this is an ensemble show and every person in one way or another makes it the success story that it is.
