MacGyver season 3 episode 22 (finale) spoilers: Who is Elliot Mason?
So who is Elliot Mason? This is the new character played by Peter Weller, someone with most of the same skills as our Angus MacGyver. There’s, unfortunately, one primary difference between the two — Mason’s working for the bad guys. He’s the darker side of Mac and a not-so-nice example of what happens when some of these powers are used for evil. He’s going to put our title hero in a horrible position in this finale, and the end result of it could have lasting reverberations for the future of the Phoenix Foundation as a whole. (Clearly, one of the writers’ goals is to leave you screaming “noooo!!!” for at least a good 50% of the episode.)
Whatever’s going on with Mac and Mason is only part of this story, though — given that this is the finale, clearly the writers want to throw as much other good stuff in here as possible. That’s why we are going to see a big story all about Mac’s dad, and something that could alter that relationship in a less-than-welcome way. “Mason + Cable + Choices” – MacGyver faces off with a cunning new adversary whose carefully crafted plans put Mac at the epicenter of an impossible choice: save the life of a friend, or save the lives of hundreds of innocents. Also, Mac receives new information that will drive a wedge between him and his father, on the third season finale of MACGYVER, Friday, May 10 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Sound intriguing? Well if nothing else, we consider this to be a reasonable foundation for whatever could be coming, and the hype could give CBS yet another reason to renew the show for more. We’re certainly a little bit shocked that it hasn’t happened already, but such is the case for a lot of CBS shows. Whether you are talking about Madam Secretary, Hawaii Five-0, Bull, SWAT, SEAL Team, or this one, their fates are all left dangling. That’s an unusual deal for CBS, so with that in mind, we’re hoping it gets rectified soon. We’ve got a feeling that with a synopsis like this, there’s a pretty good chance that there’s going to be a cliffhanger. We gotta prepare ourselves accordingly for some craziness, and it’s easier when you know that the show is coming back!
