Blue Bloods season 9 finale: Check out Jamie – Eddie wedding ‘invitation’!

Next week on the Blue Bloods season 9 finale, the moment is finally here — the Jamie – Eddie wedding! You’ve waited forever to see it, and we just hope now that all of the hype proves to be worthwhile. We want romance! Yet, given that it’s also Blue Bloods, we also want there to be some policework! They go hand in hand on a show like this, and we don’t know if there’s ever going to be an hour of television on this show that doesn’t include some sort of police crisis.

CBS has created a fun little mockup invitation for next week’s big affair — complete, of course, with the time you can RSVP/turn on your television. We’re all basically in attendance, though we don’t have to dress to the nines and unfortunately, nobody is going to feed us after the fact. We do think that it’s clever that the colors on the invite (and the flowers) are the same primary color on the ascots that Jamie and most of the grooms are wearing on their big day.

Throughout this episode, you will see a whole lot of buildup leading up to the moment, including a complicated storyline for Erin that could cause trouble for her and Eddie and then also Frank doing everything that he can to prepare for the perfect toast. It’s quite funny with this guy that sometimes, we see him really push himself to the limit to solve major, ethical dilemmas in the city of New York; now, he may be doing the same thing for his son’s wedding reception. He’s probably putting a lot of thought into it and that is more than fine in our books.

Will there be anything seen after the ceremony and reception? That’s going to be up to the producers to make some decisions regarding how they want to conclude the end of this season. For us, we’re fine with something laid-back, happy, and based all around family. The good news is that Blue Bloods is not going to be the sort of show that tries to marry off two characters and then finds a way to rip one of them away from the other for the sake of some shocking cliffhanger — we’ve certainly seen that before on other shows. Let them get married, let them be happy, and then of course prepare for whatever could be coming on the other side in season 10. There is plenty of time for the two to tell the story of life as a married police couple.
