‘The X Factor’ notes: One Direction loves James Arthur; Demi Lovato on ‘Kimmel’

With there being quite a bit happening at the moment on both editions of “The X Factor,” we’re going to take a new approach to our show notes today and talk a little bit about a story that is happening on each coast.

One Direction loves… – First, we’re going to start things off with some news that may not really be news at all if you were watching the show in the United Kingdom over the weekend: One Direction, who really just showed up to make a cameo appearance on the program, are cheering for current contestant James Arthur.

Why is this a big deal? Let’s just say that the boy-band vote can go a long way, as some of the support One Direction gave Little Mix last year was one of the many reasons why they ended up winning the season against some pretty strong competition across the board. It’s really the best recommendation you can get from an act in Britain these days if you want votes.

Demi Lovato’s new interview – If you want some good laughs, then check out this new interview featuring Demi Lovato on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” this week. Demi has developed a really great onscreen persona thanks in part to this show, and hearing the former Disney Channel star talk about Simon Cowell is hilarious. She claimed that he didn’t even remember meeting her when he first called her about the show, and she also said that he would not date Simon even if he was 25 thanks to him “parting his hair down his side.”
