Criminal Minds season 15 filming: The start of series finale taping
In a new post on Twitter, it was Dr. Tara Lewis herself in Aisha Tyler who confirmed that today is the first day of filming the series finale. We can only imagine the emotion that comes with that. This is a rewarding job, for sure, but it’s also a hard job. It’s long hours and dealing at times with intense, dramatic subject matter. It’s the sort of work that has a tendency to stay with you long after filming even concludes.
Filming episodes of network television has a tendency to go rather quickly; with that in mind, we have a feeling that production is going to be wrapping up sooner rather than later. When that happens, we can only imagine what the emotion is going to be — but, also the party! Imagine the joy that will come from getting to the other side of that and knowing that you’ve reached the culmination of this journey. You have a story that actually is complete and that is something that a small percentage of shows actually get.

So what do we imagine that some of the cast is going to film here? Think along the lines of an intense episode that involves a showdown with one of the most intense UnSubs ever. Is it Everett Lynch? We know that he is going to be a big part of this final season — he’s a villain unlike any the team has dealt with in a while. They already know some of what he’s capable of and, more than likely, it’s going to get worse dealing with him long before it gets better. No matter when Lynch is featured — whether it be in the series finale or beforehand — it’s going to take EVERYTHING that the BAU has in order to properly take him down.
Now, the main question we gotta wonder is here
When is Criminal Minds season 15 going to actually premiere? We really wish CBS would tell us! Wouldn’t it be the perfect gift for everyone who is waiting for a little more clarity on the show? We are expecting an announcement to be coming reasonably soon … but think along the lines of the middle of this month. That will at least give us a chance to learn whether or not the show is on the fall schedule. If it’s not announced there, you may have to wait for a little bit longer for some other news. (We don’t want to have to wait for a final-season announcement … but there’s a good chance that we will have to.)
