The upcoming Station 19 season 2 finale is entitled “Into the Wildfire” … and the stakes here are a little higher than usual. It’s not just about stopping a housefire or an apartment building. It’s about a wildfire in Los Angeles — which, luckily, just so happens to be where the show films. We feel like there’s a part of these shows that have to love being able actually go out on location, so they come up with a reason for an episode to be set within the city. Here, it actually makes a considerable amount of sense — California gets wildfires in a way that Seattle doesn’t (we don’t get too much in the way rain here!), and they’re always going to welcome extra hands.
For some more news about what makes this wildfire so notable, and also whose decision could end up having a tremendous impact, check out the synopsis below:
“Into the Wildfire” – The members of Station 19 pack their gear and head to Los Angeles, California, to help battle a deadly wildfire raging out of control. While the team works to evacuate residents, they meet Terry (played by Patrick Duffy), and Ben makes a split-second decision that changes both of their lives. Nyle DiMarco guest stars as Dylan on the season finale of ABC’s “Station 19,” THURSDAY, MAY 16 (9:01—10:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.
We are certainly curious how the characters of Terry and Ben are linked. Is it possible that Terry is someone Ben has to rescue, and either he fails at it our succeeds in a big way? If it’s the latter, maybe Terry is convinced that he is going to do virtually everything within his power to make it up to him. (If you’ve seen the name Patrick Duffy before, it’s probably because you caught Dallas — the man’s an icon when it comes to dramatic television.)
Given the way that the Shonda Rhimes universe is set up more often than not, we have to think that there’s going to be some sort of cliffhanger at the end of all of this. We know that Station 19 hasn’t been renewed yet for a third season, but it will almost certainly be and we don’t think that the writers were going to think conservatively when they came up with the end of this season! They likely wanted something that was big, epic, and would get people talking until whenever it is that the show actually does come back for more in the future.
