Chicago Fire season 7 episode 19 video: Casey, Severide’s talk before the storm

Chicago Fire

After a long hiatus Chicago Fire season 7 episode 19 is finally coming back on the air on Wednesday, and within that episode, you’re going to very-much see Casey and Severide ponder over their future — albeit in a most surprising way.

Is it possible that Kelly could end up taking a trip to some random part of the world on a cheap deal? It’s a rather crazy idea, but it is something that Casey suggests to him in the sneak peek below as a way for him to try and escape. In general, though, it seems like all of Firehouse 51 is doing what they can in order to “fix” Kelly since he’s been going through his fair share of pain as of late — and he also hasn’t been around Molly’s all that much. If you are to gauge someone’s health by how much they are hanging around the local firehouse bar, then you could proclaim that this is a clear cause for concern.

Severide doesn’t seem to be altogether keen on Casey’s idea for an adventure, mostly because this may be too much of an adventure, even for someone like him. He’s not altogether keen on the idea of going to the other side of the world on one of his few breaks during the year, not really knowing here he is going or what he is doing there. We think that Kelly probably does still need an adventure, but he’s seeing and viewing the world a little bit differently these days. The person now is a different guy from the person he was immediately after Benny’s death, or even before Benny’s death. Maybe that means he’s ready more to settle down, or that he’s okay with showing a different side.

No matter where Kelly is in his life, though, that’s not going to be the immediate focus within this episode. Instead, the firefighters of 51 are going to be forced to deal with a pretty major issue in a potential blackout that could make it really hard to do their job. Without any sort of radio communication, will they be able to identify danger spots anywhere near as easy? It will prohibit and limit them in some ways. There’s also another issue, one that has been discussed and featured in some promos already — a kid turning up and hiding at the fire firehouse. Nobody knows how the kid got there, but the top priority needs to be first making sure they are safe. Everything else can fall in line.
