Shadowhunters season 3 episode 20 preview: Enter ‘City of Glass’

Shadowhunters season 3 spoilers

Entering Shadowhunters season 3 episode 20, all cars are going to be on the table. “City of Glass” was originally meant to be the season 3 finale, and because of that, we have to think that this episode is going to be more emotional than most. There’s a lot of big stuff that could happen within this episode to set up the big finale event, and that includes a last-ditch effort to stop Jonathan and Magnus also continuing to spiral after losing so much of what he hold dear. He may have his magic, but he doesn’t have the person he loves the most. He also has to steal deal with his father Asmodeus hanging around and causing trouble. The worst is almost certainly still to come there.

This episode is entitled “City of Glass,” and there’s something about those three words that we still consider to be powerful and meaningful. There’s just something about hearing this that strikes a certain emotional chord. This could be an episode that makes you cry, only to make you stand up and cheer not all that long after the fact.

Below, CarterMatt offers up the official Shadowhunters season 3 episode 20 synopsis with some additional information as to what’s coming up next:

Alec, Jace and Isabelle make a plan to finally get Clary back and stop Jonathan—much to Luke’s and Simon’s chagrin. Meanwhile, an emotionally raw Magnus struggles to deal with his father’s reappearance and Maia must make a tough decision that could affect the rest of her life.

As we enter this episode, we don’t think we have to tell you of the high stakes that are present here for some of these characters — they’re on another level. For Jace, for example, he’s realized now that getting Clary back is not going to be anywhere near as easy as he once thought. It’s going to take a larger plan, and potentially a sword in order to get her back. We at least know that these characters are resilient, though, and they will do everything within their power to ensure that Clary comes back.

No matter what happens here, at least we have the assurance of knowing that we’ll learn what’s on the other side soon enough. Of course, the downside here is that after that finale, there’s no telling what the future will hold. The best advice is to enjoy every second of this journey in the past; no matter what happens, we’ll always have the Shadow World.
