Lucifer (Lucifer & Chloe) vs. Blue Bloods (Jamie & Eddie) – Crime Dynamic Duos 2019

Welcome to CarterMatt’s Crime Dynamic Duos for 2019! The goal for this tournament is pretty easy to explain: Recognizing some of the best crime fighters in all of television. The word “crimefighter” can at times have a loose interpretation, but for the sake of this tournament, we’re referring to it mostly as cops, lawyers, or investigators who do their best to take down some pretty bad people and fight to help others. They’re the sort of characters you typically admire, and they have an aspirational quality to them along with them being entertaining.

In today’s showdown, we are closing off the final eight for the tournament with a showdown between two pairs who are certainly quite different. In one, we’ve got Lucifer & Chloe from Lucifer — a duo who is doing everything that they can in order to repeat their status as champion. Yet, they have a tough road still to get there, as they are competing against another pair in Jamie & Eddie from Blue Bloods who are in the midst of the best run they’ve ever had within the tournament.

If you’ve been around for past editions of Crime Dynamic Duos, then you know a thing or two about how this works — at the bottom of this article is a poll to vote for who you want to see advance! One duo will, and at the end of the month, we’ll officially crown the champion in all of their glory.

How voting works – Vote however often you would like! (Technical instructions for multiple voting can be found right above the poll.) We will keep this poll open until Wednesday, April 24 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific time. The winner of this battle will face off against either Jane & Weller of Blindspot or Liz & Ressler of The Blacklist — this is a showdown that is taking place right now, and we’re certainly curious to see how everything pans out there…

You can see the full bracket (including start dates for each individual round) in the graphic at the top of this article.

The competitors

Lucifer & Chloe, Lucifer (#1 seed) – We knew that these two would be a force to be reckoned with throughout the tournament, so what we’re seeing at the moment can only be described as proof of that. They’re showing themselves to be strong again for many reasons, mostly due to their rapport, their chemistry, and also how they can tap almost every emotion out of you. They can make you laugh, they can make you smile, and they can make your jaw hit the ground — and all within the span of a single episode, no less.

These two have managed to make fairly easy work of most of their competitors within the tournament this year, though they did face a fair challenge in the form of Gibbs & Sloane from NCIS in the round of sixteen.

Jamie & Eddie, Blue Bloods (#3 seed) – There have been few better times as of late to be supporters of these characters — after all, the wedding is right around the corner! This moment is a great culmination of their friendship-turned romantic relationship — they’ve worked together for ages, but the relationship in a romantic sense was cemented with the engagement at the end of this past season.

As much as we’re eager to see that wedding, we don’t want to lose sight of what makes them so great at their jobs — the ability to go out in the field, challenge each other, and use unconventional methods at times to solve crimes. They try to follow the letter of the law, but more often than not, they just do what’s right in the moment.
