Gotham season 5 episode 12 (series finale) preview: The birth of Batman
Are you ready for Gotham season 5 episode 12? Everything when it comes to this show has come around to this: The series finale. We’re jumping forward ten years, we’re seeing fully-formed versions of some of your favorite characters, and we certainly hope that we’re going to have a great opportunity to see so excellent, exciting stories. We’ve said for years now that Gotham is the Batman TV show that we’ve really always wanted, one that delivers to us a lot of excellent, top-tier content and also opportunities to see so many characters in a long-form way that we rarely ever get a chance to see.
In this series finale, everything comes to a head, and that includes finally getting to see the “new” character played by Cameron Monaghan. Is this actually Jeremiah, or some new altogether? He’s been talked about as a new character so, with that, it really feels somewhat ambiguous. No matter what, rest assured that it’s going to be bonkers. A lot of this season has been and we see no reason why it should be anything different moving forward.
Below, CarterMatt offered up the official Gotham season 5 episode 12 synopsis with some more news as to what’s coming:
The series flash-forwards 10 years into the future, as Bruce is set to return to Gotham for the opening of the new Wayne Tower. A series of crimes leads Gordon to believe Penguin and The Riddler are up to their old tricks. However, when Bullock is framed for a murder, Gordon begins to piece together an even more sinister plot targeting the city, and a new figure emerges from the shadows to be the hero Gotham desperately needs in the all-new “The Beginning… ” series finale episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, April 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (GTH-510) (TV-14 L, V)
Everything within this finale should be exciting, dramatic, and everything you could possibly hope for. We’ll admit that there is a part of us that would love to see all of these people come back in four or five years to play these people again. Alas, we don’t think that it’s happening anytime soon and we just have to accept that.
Let’s hope this episode goes down in the history books as one of the most exciting series finales out there. We do think that a lot of these episodes have an immense challenge in trying to live up to some of the hype that is out there for them, but in this case, we really think that the show has an advantage in bringing in Batman. They’re giving the people what they want, while also still doing it at a time that makes a certain degree of sense. After all, Bruce couldn’t become teenage Batman overnight!
What do you think is coming on Gotham season 5 episode 12, and how do you imagine that this show is going to end?
