‘Downton Abbey’ season 3 spoilers: An episode 4 arrival
We are now less than 24 hours away from Sunday night’s new episode of “Downton Abbey” airing on ITV, and we are going to see the introduction of someone new into the world of the famous residence: a new servant named Jimmy.
Unfortunately, we don’t really know too much about this character outside of the fact that he will be played by Ed Speleers, and the photo to the left of this article showcases him working alongside Alfred as one of the new footmen serving the Abbey. However, there are still a number of rumors afoot about the character, including the possibility that he could serve as some sort of a love interest to another footman at the Abbey in Thomas. If this does turn out to be true, we have to be rather pleased with it. Why? Perhaps it will give the man an opportunity now to actually leave some of the other characters working underneath Lady Cora and Lord Grantham alone, and he can focus on some more of his own problems for once.
There really is going to be quite a bit unfolding in episode 4 at the end of the day: in addition to this arrival, we are also going to meet a new female character of Ivy who gets involved in a number of storylines pretty quickly. Ethel will also be returning for a larger role following her return to the show last week, and it is already rather clear that she is in a very different sort of situation now than she was back when she was dismissed from service and started down the road to her current profession.
What do you think about the arrival of Jimmy’s character, and do you think that he really could be a nice addition to the show?
