The Blacklist season 6 episode 17 preview: ‘The Third Estate’ rises
Now, they’re getting their own spotlight story, which should be a pretty good sign of how important they are to whatever is happening at the center of the government. We’ve long said that this is the part of the season 6 story that needs a little bit more amplification — there hasn’t been enough of a focus on it and it’s high time that this changes. Of course (and because The Blacklist never wants to do just one thing), we’ve also got another story that is going to show just how far Donald Ressler is going to go in his quest for information on Katarina Rostova. This is his new task, and it’s a dangerous one since he’s not altogether interested in telling Liz about it. (Or, you could say that he’s not too keen — we’ll see ourselves out right now.)

This is an episode that will offer up some info, but probably not any answers. We’re still fairly far from the end of the season! That’s what happens when you’re looking at a 22-episode season that does have so many moving parts to it. We still need to see how Ressler’s findings are connected to the issue of Reddington’s identity … and also what’s going to happen in Washington with the Task Force. While we’re not sure the President is the ultimate Big Bad with this show, it wouldn’t come as a shock if they were at least the Big Bad for the remainder of the season. If nothing else, we know exactly where he lines up on the pendulum of good and evil — one that does have a tendency to swing back and forth.
