Station 19 season 2 episode 14 preview: The dangers of ‘Friendly Fire’

Station 19What do you want to see when it comes to Station 19 season 2 episode 14? Well, let’s just start with the title here: “Friendly Fire.” Welp. When does hearing that ever sound like a good thing? Within this context, it makes us feel like this episode is going to be about a firefighter hurting another firefighter — it may not be intentional, but it’s certainly something to keep in mind. When these sort of tragedies happen, there are undoubtedly some of the most tragic just because you are dealing with such kind, well-meaning people who want to do nothing more than to save lives.

What’s coming on next week’s episode is starting (shocker!) with a fire — an enormous structure fire that is taking place at an industrial plant. Another fire captain is in danger, and they may be the only people who are capable of coming in to help.

For a little more information, check out the full Station 19 season 2 episode 14 synopsis:

When Station 19 gets called to a structure fire at a coffee processing plant, the team risks their lives to save Station 42’s captain. Meanwhile, Ripley and Vic consider a shocking option to save their relationship; Andy gets some surprising news about some of her fellow crew members, and Pruitt takes on a new position.

What makes this story matter so much? For starters, we do appreciate the potential focus that could be here when it comes to the Seattle Fire Department at large. Being a part of an FD is different than being in the hospital system like we get on Grey’s Anatomy. There’s much more of a hierarchy from one station to the next — people don’t work together all the time, but there’s a familiarity there. There’s also a feeling that they have the same goals anytime they are out in the field with one another. The best firefighters are the ones who can leave that ego at the door and realize what really matters the most in the world — helping each other. Saving the community and then being a beacon for them even when there are no fires to put out.

As for what else is coming in this episode, it is going to be nice to get some more personal insight on some of these characters. We know that what’s happening within this episode for Vic, for example, may not be where she is in the finale, but it’s nice to get a few check-ins here and there. We imagine that there’s going to be a little more flux across the board before we get to the finale.
