Blue Bloods season 9: Are Donnie Wahlberg, cast filming big wedding?
We’ve heard for a little while that this season is going to conclude with the epic Jamie – Eddie wedding, the event that’s been out there in the works really since the proposal at the end of last season. We’ve seen the two prepare, and we’ve seen the two tackle all sorts of bumps in the road along the way. Yet, they love each other and like any good, epic love story, that love has persevered. It’s gotten them to this fantastic place where we can see their vows and celebrate.
Judging from the post HERE via Donnie Wahlberg’s Instagram, signs are pointing to the cast all being in attendance for the big day — they’re all at the church, seemingly in some well-coordinated outfits, and you’ve also got a return appearance from Stacy Keach as the Archdiocese. While we know that he and Frank have a history of butting heads, there’s still a ton of respect there and we feel like he’s the perfect person to tie the knot for Will Estes and Vanessa Ray’s characters. (Also, if you’re going to have someone officiate your scripted TV wedding, don’t you want it to be Stacy Keach? Feels like a good idea.)
There’s so much joy and happiness in the air surrounding this big occasion, but we’d be remiss to not mention that there are a few tinges of uncertainty — Blue Bloods hasn’t been formally renewed for a season 10 just yet so we gotta at least recognize the possibility that this wedding sends everyone off into the sunset. It would be a lovely way to tie together the show … but we don’t think that it’s the end. The ratings are just too strong and the enthusiasm out there for the show is just too large. If CBS were to can Blue Bloods now there’d be revolts out in the streets and we don’t think they wanna deal with that. (There’s also the oh-so-simple fact that they don’t really have another show that can fully replicate the ratings that this show is getting at 10:00 p.m. on Friday nights — we cannot understate enough how impressive the show’s long-term importance is there.)
The Blue Bloods season 9 finale is coming to CBS this May, but there’s all sorts of exciting stuff that is coming up before that! This includes a new episode coming this Friday featuring the return of Lou Diamond Phillips as Luis Delgado!
