Blue Bloods season 9 episode 19 preview: Delgado, Danny team up

Next week, Blue Bloods season 9 episode 19 is going to feature the long-awaited return of Lou Diamond Phillips as Luis Delgado. However, it’s not going to happen in precisely the way in which you would expect. The character’s not showing up in Danny Reagan’s life solely for the sake of causing him trouble; Instead, he may need a little bit of his help. Something terrible happens and in the aftermath of this, he may suddenly realize that he suddenly has a little bit more in common with Danny than he ever realized.

Below, CarterMatt offers up the official Blue Bloods season 9 episode 19 synopsis with more scoop as to what’s coming up:

“Common Enemies” – After someone breaks into Luis Delgado’s (Lou Diamond Phillips) home and kills his wife, Luis and Danny team up to take down the vicious murderer who may also be responsible for Linda’s death. Also, Frank finally meets Eddie’s mother, Lena (Christine Ebersole), and Jamie and Erin are at odds after Jamie seeks her help charging a man who confessed to him while under the influence, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, April 12 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

It’s not often that you get an episode of Blue Bloods where there are TWO stories that are as big as what we’re getting with Danny and Frank. Getting Phillips back is obviously headline news but, beyond just that, so is getting back Christine Ebersole. We’ve already seen that Lena is a force of nature, and the sort of person who does not approve of things or people altogether easily. When Jamie Reagan first showed up, he faced an uphill battle but eventually won her over. Within this upcoming episode, we’re hopefully going to get a chance to see Frank do the same thing. We know that he himself can be an incredibly intimidating figure — as Police Commissioner, he’s one of the most important people in the entire city. Yet, Lena may not treat him the same way as many other people do in the city.

As for what’s happening with Jamie and Erin…

Well, the idea of the two of them being at adds isn’t a shock — it’s happened before and it’s certainly going to happen again. As the two try to continue to try to work things out here, they just need to recognize the pressure that is on each other. It’s a big part of the position that they’re in now in their respective offices. They have to give each other the necessary slack and patience.
