Blue Bloods season 9 episode 20 may not be coming on CBS until we get around to Friday, April 26, but there is a lot of fascinating, political stuff to be thinking about from now until then. Take, for example, the opportunity to see Erin have to make good on a favor that she owes to the Governor — one that requires her to propose a deal to Frank. She’s having to loop in her father to something that he may not altogether agree with, and if we know one thing about Frank, it’s that it is REALLY hard to get him to do something without him getting something in return. He’s the master of compromise that way, and he’s already had conversations with Erin about having to separate their personal and work relationships.

Want to get a little more insight as to how these parts of them are going to come to a head in this episode? Then we suggest that you take a look at the attached synopsis right now:
“Strange Bedfellows” – Erin must convince Frank to back a new state police bill as part of a bargain she made with Governor Mendez (David Zayas). Also, Danny and Baez pursue the same perp twice after the DA’s office is unconvinced by their initial lineup, and Frank faces a challenge when a cop killer comes up for parole, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, April 26 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Beyond what’s happening with Erin, it does seem like Danny and Baez find themselves in a little bit of a pickle having to retrace their steps on a case. We have to imagine that for them, dealing with this is certainly frustrating … but it’s a part of the job. (Of course, them dealing with the DA’s office doesn’t necessarily mean that they are dealing with Erin.)
As for Frank, what we’re going to see for him in this episode is him having to make another trademark ethical dilemma. One of the things that we do know about Frank is that he doesn’t tolerate cop killers in the slightest and we have a hard time imagining that parole is going to be a part of this story … unless it is an extreme situation, and those do manage to come about every now and then.
