Is Gotham new tonight on Fox? Within this article, we’re going to answer that question — and then also cast our focus to some of what’s coming on this series down the line.
Okay, so let’s get the bad news out of the way right now, since there’s no point in waiting: There is no new episode coming up on the network tonight. What’s the reason for that? Well, it’s got a thing or two to deal with the fact that Fox is trying to stretch out their Thursday lineup for as long as humanly possible. We don’t know why they didn’t just air Gotham/The Orville straight through from January until late March, but here we are dealing with another hiatus for a show that really didn’t have that long of a season (just 12 episodes!). To make matters worse, there are only two left, and the first of them entitled “They Did What?” is going to be airing on Thursday, April 18.
The good news, at least if you love chaos, is that this episode is going to have plenty of it. You’ll see a little bit more of Bane, Bruce getting closer to Batman, and also Walker going full Nyssa al Ghul — the person that she’s really been this whole time. Everything is radiating Batman at the moment on Gotham, even if we haven’t seen the Dark Knight himself in the flesh. that reveal is going to come soon enough and we’re waiting with bated breath to see him in the series finale. (It’s already been revealed that this episode is going to take an enormous leap forward to the future, when Bruce puts on that famous cowl.)
To get you a little bit more excited for the future, we suggest that you check out the official Gotham season 5 episode 11 synopsis below:
As Bane (guest star Shane West) enacts his final plan for Gotham’s destruction, Gordon rallies his former enemies to save the city. Meanwhile, Nyssa al Ghul (guest star Jaime Murray) kidnaps Barbara’s newborn daughter, with ambitions to raise her as her own. Then, Bruce’s decision to leave Gotham points him to his destiny, while devastating Selina in the all-new “They Did What?” episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, April 18 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (GTH-509) (TV-14 L, V)
This episode’s going to be exciting, but you better go ahead and prepare for it to be emotional. Even when things are at peak crazy — and they probably will be throughout — you shouldn’t forget about the fact that this journey, epic and amazing as it’s been. This is the Batman show so many of us have long yearned for, one that over time captured the intensity, the drama, and of course, the insanity of some of the heroes and villains that populate this broken city.
