New Amsterdam episode 17 spoilers: New details on ‘Sanctuary’

Unfortunately, we’re being forced to wait a pretty long time in order to check out New Amsterdam episode 17; while you wait, today we’ve got some more information on what’s ahead! “Sanctuary” is an episode that will be bringing you a lot when it comes to material, and it’s also going to pick up where this past episode left off. The doctors will still be handling the storm and the wide array of aftereffects that go along with it, including the loss of power and the limited resources.

This is why doctors take this job — to save lives under any circumstance. Obviously, they wish that they were in a little more ideal circumstances than what they’re dealing with here, but sometimes, you have to just take the situation for what it is and try to make the best of it. It’s not the easiest thing in the world to do, but we feel like we’ve seen enough of these doctors at this point to know that they’re more than up for the task.

04/09/2019 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Tuesday) : As the doctors continue to weather the storm without power, Max (Ryan Eggold) relies on an unlikely source to get the lights back on. Meanwhile, Reynolds (Jocko Sims) must get creative as he continues to work to save Hugh with very few resources. Also starring Janet Montgomery as Lauren Bloom, Freema Agyeman as Helen Sharpe, Anupam Kher as Vijay Kapoor and Tyler Labine as Iggy Frome. TV-14 L, V

Did Max become friends with an electrician? Is that his “unlikely source”? Since when is a likely source actually unlikely? We’re probably putting way too much thought into this…

In general, we consider episode 17 to be the foundation for what should be an exciting home stretch — we wouldn’t be shocked to see new episodes starting on this week and running for the rest of the season. If we continue to get a new episode a week, we’re going to have a chance to see all sorts of cool stuff from here all the way to the big finale coming in May. There’s already a season 2 renewal; that’s been that way for some time. We have to imagine that for the New Amsterdam writers, that allowed them to take a deep breath and actually focus on the long-term without being worried about what happens in the near future. (Of course, that does raise the chances of a big cliffhanger at the end of the season, but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. After all, we’ve got a little while to wait…)
