Blue Bloods season 9 episode 18 return date: The story of ‘Rectify’

Blue Bloods season 9

Want to know the Blue Bloods season 9 episode 18 return date following tonight’s new installment … and also more scoop as to what’s coming? Consider this article your go-to source for “Rectify,” which is not seemingly a recreation of the awesome series of the same name. (We’ve got a goal to shout-out as many different great Abigail Spencer shows as possible.)

Let’s get the bad news out of the way now — the return date for Blue Bloods season 9 is April 5. That means no new episodes for the next couple of weeks. Boo. Why do this? Blame college basketball, as CBS’ coverage of the NCAA Tournament is going to dominate the schedule the next couple of weeks. The network’s obviously prepared for this, as they’ve plotted out their schedule with this in mind. The dates for this tournament are set far in advance, mostly as a means for both the NCAA to plan and for CBS to schedule. The Blue Bloods return date is a byproduct of that.

Want some other news on what’s coming? Then check out the official Blue Bloods season 9 episode 18 synopsis below:

“Rectify” – After an incident where Officer Witten’s (Lauren Patten) backup physically could not keep up with a chase, Frank must decide whether to implement a more rigorous fitness test for the NYPD. Also, Danny is hesitant to pursue a cold case after learning who the original detective was; Anthony begs Erin to stall a murder trial so he can gather more evidence; and Eddie is vexed by Jamie’s disapproval of her joining a fraternal organization, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, April 5 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

We do we want to see through this episode? Think along the lines of some controversy over the fitness of police. Cops obviously need to be in peak physical condition, but you don’t want to get so focused on this that everything else that matters ends up in the weeds — like cognitive ability and instinct. You have to be prepared for anything in this job.

As for the Jamie/Eddie story, does anyone think that this is somehow Blue Bloods mixed with Lodge 49, otherwise known as a great show everyone should be watching? We’d highly recommend seeing that … but for the sake of this episode, we do wonder what some of Jamie’s objects are. Is he worried that members of this order could try to take advantage of her? That’s a possibility, but above all else, we just think that he is trying to look out for her. He loves her, and of course wants to make sure both her and the badge she wears are safe.

There are five more episodes still to air, and through those, we are hoping to see a Jamie/Eddie wedding … along with also the return of Lou Diamond Phillips as Delgado. We already know that’s been filming, so prepare for a showdown between him and Danny soon.
