Arrow season 7 episode 15 is entitled “Training Day,” and for those curious, that does appear to be as on-the-nose of a title as you are going to get. It’s a direct reference to the movie (and the short-lived TV show, which ironically featured Nyssa al Ghul herself in Katrina Law), and it does suit the story that you’re going to get within this episode. It’s largely about the interactions between the Star City Police Department and Team Arrow, and this is a relationship that we absolutely know is rather strained already. It’s been that way almost from the beginning — how can you say anything else when you consider that this is a show about vigilantes?
Below, CarterMatt does have the official Arrow season 7 episode 15 synopsis with additional news:
TEAM ARROW ATTEMPTS TO WORK WITH SCPD – Team Arrow attempts to work with the Star City Police Department but much to Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) frustration, things don’t go as planned. Meanwhile, Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) gets some life-changing news. Ruba Nadda directed the episode written by Emilio Ortega Aldrich & Rebecca Rosenberg (#715). Original airdate 3/11/2019.
The important thing worth noting is that clearly, Oliver is entering this operation with the police force with the best of intentions. He actually wants this to work, and it doesn’t appear strictly like improving this relationship is some temporary gambit. This could be a sign of maturity — after doing something different with the police for many years, this is Team Arrow recognizing that maybe cooperating is best.
Well, that’s at least the plan. Clearly, something is going to go awry that makes the entire operation go down the tubes, but can it be repaired?
On the other side of this…
We don’t want to say too much about it just yet, but the show’s upcoming March 18 episode is the long-awaited one that is taking place in the future! We’ve learned now that Katherine McNamara’s character of Mia is the daughter of Oliver Queen, but what does her future look like? What does any of the future look like? “Star City 2040” is an episode that could be a game-changer. We know that there has been a critique of this timeline in that it presents a very bleak look at the future for these characters. While it’s understandable that this show wants to be all dark and gritty (and we love this show for that), you also want there to be some sort of sparkle on the horizon. You don’t want to just think that it’s constant tears and distress. Who wants to watch that misery week in and week out? It’s possible that there is a turn within this episode that no one sees leading up to it.
