God Friended Me episode 16 preview: Stella Maeve to appear

There are a couple of things worth noting within this God Friended Me episode 16 preview piece, starting with the fact that there will be a new episode next week. Even though both NCIS: Los Angeles and Madam Secretary will be pressing pause, in part due to an Aretha Franklin tribute event, the adventures of Miles, Cara, and Rakesh will keep pushing forward. There are only five more episodes left this season! That’s obviously not an easy thing to think about (we’ve really enjoyed this show as a breath of fresh air this season), but this is where we are.

So as for where things go from here moving into episode 16, the first thing worth noting is that you’re going to be seeing a notable guest star! The Magicians actress Stella Maeve will be coming on board this show as Sophia, someone who will be the subject of the latest Friend Suggestion. What makes her special? It turns out that she’s a woman with big dreams that is doing everything that she can to turn them into reality. It’s possible that there is something or someone standing in her way, and this is where Miles and Cara can help out. What makes these two so special is that, when you think about it, they really have no qualifications at all to be able to do what they do. They’re not cops, they’re not private investigators, and they’re certainly not motivation speakers or self-help gurus. One is a podcast host and the other is a reporter; yet, they keep finding themselves in positions where they can change lives. Hopefully, they’ll have a chance to do that here … while also continuing to grow closer, given that we remain hopeful that we’re going to see the two get together by the end of the season.

“Scenes from an Italian Restaurant” – When the God Account sends Miles and Cara the name of Sophia (Stella Maeve), a sous chef, they decide to help when they learn that her dreams of opening her own restaurant are in danger of falling apart. Also, Ali and Miles are concerned that the Diocese sent Rev. Carver (Gaius Charles) to replace Arthur, and Rakesh gets closer to Simon Hayes (Adam Goldberg), on GOD FRIENDED ME, Sunday, March 10 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

After reading this, there are two important questions worth wondering.

1. When is someone going to learn the truth about Reverend Carter? – It does seem like he is being groomed as an Oliver replacement! We don’t like it, but that’s precisely where we are with this story at the moment.

2. Is Rakesh going to learn something about the God Account through Simon? – Almost every shred of evidence we’ve got suggests that this guy has at least a big connection to the God Account — it’s really just about learning what that connection is. We’re not ready to guarantee anything this early — it seems almost too convenient for it to be Simon, and we’re also in the first season of a story destined to last for some time still. We do, after all, have a season 2 on the day — and that’s even something we discussed in the video at the bottom of this article!
