Is MacGyver new tonight? A look at what’s coming up next

MacGyver

Is MacGyver new tonight on CBS? Within this article, we’re going to offer you up a response to that question — while also detailing some of what will be coming up next for the series.

Let’s start off with the bad news — there is no new episode tonight featuring Lucas Till and the rest of the cast, with the simple reason for that being that this is just one of those rare weeks where the show has a night off. There are few different reasons for a hiatus, and we are coming off of a nice stretch of new episodes during February sweeps. Sometimes, this just happens in order to give everyone a breather on the other side of that — there are a lot of viewers out there who don’t get a chance to watch TV live! People to inevitably fall behind and this gives them a nice chance in order to catch up.

When the show does return to CBS, rest assured there will be at least two really interesting episodes coming your way. The first one seems to be memorable because of the mission, whereas the second one is going to stand out because of the guest stars.

Let’s kick things off with next week’s new episode, which seems fun focusing in on something that give us an escape room sort of feel to it. Take a look at the official synopsis below:

“Seeds + Permafrost + Feather” – MacGyver and team are asked to solve a locked-door mystery when a man working inside a remote, ultra-secure international seed vault disappears, on MACGYVER, Friday, March 8 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

This episode should be quirky, unique, and stand out from the pack. Basically, this is some of what MacGyver does best. They want to tell us interesting stories that nobody else can do as well as MacGyver does!

As for the second episode on March 15…

This is one that we wrote about earlier today, which features the return of David Dastmalchian (Murdoc) alongside the original Murdoc in Michael Des Barres. New Murdoc episodes are always fantastic, but ones where you force him to work with Mac are on a higher level. This marks an opportunity to see these two forces of nature clash … and for us to be very afraid that Murdoc is going to bust out of prison again. We have zero faith that this prison will hold Murdoc forever. He’s got this constant itch to want to cause mayhem; eventually, he’s going to end up scratching it and it’s mostly a matter of when he gets the opportunity. His son seems to be the only thing that has held him back, but we don’t foresee that being permanent.
