Whiskey Cavalier episode 2 preview: What’s next in ‘The Czech List’

Want to know some of what’s coming on Whiskey Cavalier episode 2? Well, be prepared for more action and, of course, more humor. Think of the premiere as laying the foundation — it’s setting the groundwork for some of these characters and understanding who they are. We’ve met Will and Frankie but there is still so much more to learn about what makes them tick and some of the ways that they handle tricky situations. It is funny, though, that we saw Will in such a vulnerable place at the start of the season — heartbroken. We wish that we could say things will get pretty easier for him as we move into episode 2, but it probably won’t.

What makes this show unique is that you’ve got this vulnerability and this lighthearted humor, and you’re pairing that up with almost-constant action and putting some of your characters into various degrees of peril … plus explosions. Plenty of explosions. Also, puns! Next week’s episode is entitled “The Czech List,” and that gives you a good sense as to how the writers are approaching the story. They will give you difficult missions with emotional reveals, but they’ll find a way to make you smile at times throughout. This upcoming episode (airing next Wednesday) is a story of seduction, but there is a twist here — the woman at the center of said seduction is probably not going to be the easiest person in the world to win over.

The Whiskey team is sent to Prague for their first official mission where Will has to seduce the widow of a notorious shipping tycoon in order to gain access to a list of criminal clients, but Frankie doubts his ability to deceive a grieving woman. Back in New York, the bureau assigns the team a new liaison, who just so happens to be the last person Will wants to see.

Typically by the end of the third or fourth episode, you get a pretty good sense of what a show is and what it will bring throughout the entirety of the season. What we’re trying to say here is fairly simple: We haven’t gotten to the point where we’re seeing all the cards just yet. Relish this time to get to know the characters and take in some new surprises around every corner at the bureau. Don’t think too far ahead when you should want to see what’s coming up a week at a time.
