Chicago Fire season 7 episode 16 preview: Casey’s life on the line

Chicago Fire season 7

Next week Chicago Fire season 7 episode 16 is going to be moving away from crossover territory and back into an episode focused mostly on Firehouse 51. To be specific, it’s going to present you with a situation that could prove to be life-or-death for one Matthew Casey.

Let’s be honest for a minute — if there is one person who should be used to being in jeopardy at this point, it’s Casey. There are so many different cliffhangers and crises that we’ve seen from him throughout the series’ run and really, this is just one more that you can add to the list. We like to think that the writers aren’t going to kill off Jesse Spencer’s character in the middle of a season, but certainly crazier things have happened over the years.

Below, CarterMatt offers up the official Chicago Fire season 7 episode 16 synopsis with some more news as to what’s coming:

02/27/2019 (09:00 PM – 10:00 PM) (Wednesday): During an emergency call, an unsuspecting Lt. Casey suddenly finds his life in peril. Grissom (guest star Gary Cole) warns the firehouse that they will need to gear up for a performance evaluation. Otis discovers he won a raffle prize at a recent fundraiser and Brett is met with challenges in her personal life. TV-14 V

Provided that Casey ends up being okay, the harder part of this episode should just be watching some of these characters have to deal with Grissom. The man is the ultimate thorn in everyone’s side and someone who may want to put Firehouse 51 through its paces just because Boden is somewhat of a threat to his new power as commissioner. He’s such a complicated guy given that he has so much history with Severide, but it’s not a connection that Kelly seems to be altogether interested in keeping.

As for Brett’s story, one of the things that you have to wonder is simply this: Won’t it be hard over time to date a Chaplain? He’s a very religious man and there are of course certain challenges that go along with that. It’s probably a very different sort of relationship than any other that she’s had throughout her life.
