FBI episode 15 preview: Designated Survivor actor set to guest star

FBI episode 15 is coming onto CBS next week, and there’s a good bit to like in terms of the story! There is also a particularly notable guest star worth discussing here.

Per CBS, you’re going to be seeing Royal Pains alum / Designated Survivor actor Paulo Costanzo in a guest role as Spencer Briggs. For some more news as to what’s coming in this installment, check out the official Designated Survivor episode 15 synopsis for more:

“Scorched Earth” – A serial bomber appears to be targeting Wall Street’s elite. Maggie and OA search for a suspect who seems dead-set on revenge, while Dana deals with Spencer Briggs (Paulo Costanzo), a cocky profiler brought in to consult on the case, on FBI, Tuesday, Feb. 26 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Getting Costanzo on board the show is a nice little benefit to the series, and it could be a foundation for something more. Basically, FBI is building its own universe just like many other Dick Wolf productions have over time. Just think in terms of what we’ve seen with Law & Order / all of its offshoots alongside One Chicago. One of the benefits of having a franchise like this is that you can bring in new, familiar faces and then have them appear here and there over time. It remains to be seen if that’s the case here, but doesn’t it make a certain degree of sense that the FBI would need a profiler on a fairly regular basis to help with various cases? We certainly do think it makes a certain degree of sense.

As for what else is coming up on this case, we imagine that the criminal here is probably someone who either feels slighted or, at the same time, is trying to destroy the rich for the sake of someone else. Trying to understand this person’s motives is going to be one of many key components to what could be, as a whole, one of the more complicated episodes of this season. Now that we are fifteen episodes in, we know the world well enough that you can make cases more complicated and add to the overall tapestry of head-scratching cases and unique characters.
