The Gifted season 2 finale spoilers: How could this story end?
We’ll go ahead and be honest here — it’s hard to imagine the show getting a season 3 renewal given some of the information that is out there. This is one of the lowest-rated series on Fox, and that problem is exacerbated further by the fact that we are going to be seeing the network cut its scripted content down about two hours from what we saw this season because of wrestling. Add to this the complicated Disney acquisition of Fox, and you’ve got even more evidence that this is one of the messiest situations out there for a bubble show. We’re not optimistic, and because of that, we’re mostly hoping for a satisfying conclusion that will excite fans who stuck along for this long. (We do wonder just how much the writers for The Gifted took the show’s uncertain future into account at the time in which they were writing it.)

Reeva prepares to carry out her plan for the Inner Circle, but not everyone is on the same page. Reed struggles to manage his powers and the family realizes that without enough of the serum, it’s only a matter of time before he completely loses control. Frustrated and egged on by Benedict Ryan, Jace and the Purifiers are on the attack, but for Jace, things aren’t as black and white as they once were in the all-new “oMens” season finale episode of THE GIFTED airing Tuesday, Feb. 26 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. By the end of this episode, we imagine that our jaws will be on the ground at least once — we’re gearing up for what should be an action-packed final chapter and one that should remind us of some of the great stuff that this series did over the past couple of years. It’s been pretty cool that there’s been something within the X-Men universe on broadcast television, especially since a decade or so ago it would be rather hard to envision this ever happening. We just hope that if this is the end, there are going to be some opportunities for some other series in the future.
