Suits season 8 episode 16 (finale) spoilers: Prepare for Hardman

Before we do anything else, let’s go ahead and share the official Suits season 8 episode 16 synopsis via USA — it doesn’t give much away, but it’s certainly enough to be excited for:
When Hardman comes looking for retribution, the firm rallies to Harvey’s defense.
The return of Daniel Hardman is going to be the main event to close out the season, and quite possibly the big main event in general for many a Suits fan. This is something people have been wanting to see for a super-long time and for good reason. We’re talking about one of the most-notorious baddies in the history of the show, someone who is capable of causing chaos and someone who has a significant reason to cause chaos. We expect shouting, strategy, complicated workarounds, and so much more.
Basically, this is Suits — it would be foolish to expect anything else. We’re also hoping for some sort of big cliffhanger that sets the stage for some important stuff when it comes to season 9 … the final season. This is a more important finale than most with that in mind, given that there are only ten episodes in the final season and that means only so much time to set up loose ends.
We’ve mentioned this before, but we do think that there’s something interesting to discuss here when it comes to episode-title plurality. If you remember, we’ve already had a Suits episode entitled “Donna” that served as critical in its own way. We don’t want to read too much into this, but admittedly it’s kind of hard not to since clearly, the writers had to be thinking about this. They are more hyper-aware of episode titles than anyone else, given that they sit in a room and likely debate them for hours on end.
Remember, the penultimate episode of Suits season 8 airs Wednesday night on USA. It should set the stage.
